Macmillan Benefits Advice
Macmillan Benefits Advice provide a confidential specialist welfare rights service for cancer patients who have, or are receiving treatment at either University Hospital Lewisham or Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The service can help with the following
- Entitlement to benefits
- Completion of benefit forms
- Appeals
- Representation at tribunals
- Information on health costs such as prescriptions costs, housing costs, travel to hospital, transport concessions such as disabled parking badge and accessing charitable grants.

Prescriptions
Prescriptions are free of charge if you are receiving cancer treatment.
- A form for an exemption certificate is available from your Clinical Nurse Specialist or GP
- The form needs a clinical signature
- The Certificate lasts for five years and can be renewed as often as needed.
