A Trust with a big future

This is an exciting time to join Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, and we thank you for your interest.

With award-winning maternity staff, and an outstanding rating from the CQC for our community services in Lewisham, we offer a huge range of career opportunities.

Whether you’re at the start of your career, or interested in new challenges, we are always on the lookout for talented people to help us deliver high-quality services for our local people.

The Trust’s leadership is committed to building a strong, sustainable and well-governed organisation, providing the basis for becoming a successful Foundation Trust in the future.

Our vision is to truly unite services and staff in Lewisham and Greenwich to build on what we do well in both boroughs. By joining us now, you can play a role in shaping our new culture and ensuring the new Trust makes the best possible start.

Our team

Our employees put patients at the heart of everything they do – there is a genuine commitment to providing the best services we can for the local population. This is reflected in the positive feedback we receive from patients, and by the number of Trust staff who have received ‘NHS Heroes’ awards.

You’ll find a real sense of togetherness and positivity across our workforce – we’re listening and involving all our staff to improve services and make our Trust a great place to work.

There’s lots going on socially too, including the Trust Choir, who finished as runners-up in the first BBC2 series of ‘Sing While Your Work’ with Gareth Malone.

Facilities and resources

There has been substantial investment in new and improved facilities at both hospitals over the last two years. In May 2013, a new Children’s Cancer Ward was opened at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, which is a modern hospital only built in 2001.

In 2012, a £12 million refurbishment project was completed at Lewisham Hospital to improve the environment patients are treated in.

Location and travel

Our two hospitals and 13 community sites are well served by public transport. Trains from London Bridge take 15-20 mins while Kent’s towns, villages and countryside are also within easy reach.

There are lots of local bus services too. Click to learn more about transport options. Both hospitals have plenty of shops and other amenities in the vicinity, but without the crowdedness of some London hospital locations.

Health and Wellbeing

In a community-focused Trust like ours, we’re big on the health and wellbeing of our own staff. The Trust promotes a range of initiatives including regular health and wellbeing days. We also provide a number of services for our people including physiotherapy and confidential counselling.

In addition, we support flexible working which is a much valued way for staff to enjoy the right work-life balance.

Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS)

Armed forces
