The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital is open 24/7 and treats patients with minor injuries and illnesses such as infections, sprains or bites.
The unit treats patients with less serious injuries that are not critical or life-threatening but still require urgent attention. The Urgent Treatment Centre does not have an appointment system - it is a walk-in service.
Services available
We will see and treat minor illness and injuries in both adults and children, for example:
- Fever and infections
- Sprains
- Scalds and burns
- Minor cuts, bites or stings
- Fractures
The UCC works closely with the Emergency Department. When you come in you will be assessed using our streaming/triaging system to see what priority your treatment should be given and who would be the best person to see you.
