Lower Limb and Lymphoedema Service

Lower Limb and Lymphoedema is a community-based service that offers specialist advice, support and management of lymphoedema/chronic oedema, and for complex leg ulcers.

We assesses and treats primary and secondary lymphoedema affecting arms, the truncal region, genital area, legs, feet, head and neck or lower limb leg ulcers only. All of our treatment options are based on national guidelines and best practice.

We can offer advice and education for those affected, including the use of various dressings and banding techniques, compression hosiery/wraps, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, kinesio taping and multi-layered lymphoedema bandaging.

Where we are based

Our service is provided by specialist lymphoedema and leg ulcer nurses and practitioners in community clinics, and can offer home visits if necessary.

Opening hours

We are available Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm. Our service does not operate on bank holidays.

How to get a referral

Please talk to your GP if you think you would benefit from our input. Your GP can make a referral to our service.

We can treat you if you:

  • Are registered with a Lewisham GP
  • Are living with with primary and secondary lymphoedema
  • Are at risk of developing lymphoedema and require preventive advice and management
  • Patients with chronic leg ulcers following management with standard treatment
  • Healthcare professionals requesting advice and support
