Employee of the Month for March

Congratulations to Mario Longondjo, Consultant in Emergency Medicine at University Hospital Lewisham, who has been chosen as our Employee of the Month for March.

Adam Durbin, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, explained why he nominated him: "Mario is an expert clinician whose dedication to our patients and colleagues is second to none.

"He recently moved from working in the Emergency Department to being the Consultant Supervisor of the ‘Same Day Emergency Care Department’ a new initiative to reduce overcrowding in the Emergency Department. Nothing is ever too much for Mario, he is always willing to help and lead from the front. He regularly provides teaching for his colleagues and supports nurses and doctors in their progression through their careers.

"Mario is a role model for his team and puts the patient and visitor experience at the heart of his work. He always treats patients with extreme commitment, compassion, and empathy and puts them at ease."

“He is the type of consultant you would want to take care of your entire family, should they become ill."

Mario was congratulated by his team and presented with a certificate and a fruit basket. Hasan Er, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, donated the fruit basket.
