New way to pay for parking

From the beginning of May, a new parking payment system will begin operation at University Hospital Lewisham. The new system will be managed electronically by automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, which will record all vehicles entering or leaving the car park.

Drivers will now be able to pay using a mobile phone-based app – Pay by Phone – which enables you to extend your parking time from wherever you are. Alternatively, you can pay at the machine on leaving – simply enter your registration and it will tell you how much to pay.

Please ensure you park within the marked out bays – any vehicle not doing this will receive a parking charge notice (PCN).

Free disabled parking

Blue Badge holders will be able to park for four hours in the disabled bays but will need to register at main reception or the Riverside reception each time you park. Please ensure that your Blue Badge is clearly displayed in the windscreen.

Drop off bays

Drivers can stay for a maximum of 10 minutes in the drop-off bays and must remain with their vehicle. If you are there for longer than 10 minutes you will automatically receive a PCN.

Ambulance bays/service roads

If any unauthorised vehicle enters these areas and does not leave within five minutes, the system will generate an automatic PCN.

Please note that the new payment system will also be coming soon to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
