LGT Star of the Month April
Congratulations to Ibnul Meshu, Quality and Training Manager at the Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (HSDU), Queen Elizabeth Hospital, who is our LGT Star of the Month for April.
The Quality and Training Manager leads and oversees the department's training programme, ensuring that all colleagues maintain the required levels of competence, confidence, and compliance in line with regulatory and organisational standards.
Ibnul was nominated for the Rising Star Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the HSDU team: “Since joining Ibnul has quickly become a valued member of the department, demonstrating strong leadership, professionalism, and commitment. He plays a key role in managing and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it meets ISO 13485:2016 standards.
“He was instrumental in preparing the department for the British Standards Institution (BSI) surveillance audit in February 2026, which was successfully completed with zero non-conformances and very positive feedback on the system's effectiveness. He has also strengthened the department's training framework, helping improve colleague confidence, competence, and readiness in their roles.
In addition, he reviewed and enhanced the Quality System Manual to ensure safe and compliant medical device reprocessing. His proactive approach and attention to detail have made a clear impact, significantly strengthening quality assurance and continuous improvement across the department.”
Ibnul was congratulated by his colleagues and presented with a certificate, a £100 voucher from LGT, and a fruit basket donated by Hasan Er, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Ibnul said: “Being nominated as LGT Star of the Month among colleagues who are all deeply committed to outstanding patient safety and care is a meaningful recognition. It reflects the dedication and high standards we strive to maintain every day in supporting those who rely on our services at LGT. I would like to dedicate this recognition to my HSDU team, colleagues, and senior management, whose continued support, teamwork, and commitment are an essential part of this achievement.”
Caroline Campbell, Key Account Manager ISS and chair of this month's judging panel, added: "Congratulations to Ibnul, continuous compliance and governance are essential to the ongoing monitoring and improvement of the QMS. This is intrinsic to any business and pivotal in ensuring standards are consistently met and maintained. The successful completion of the BSI surveillance audit further reinforces his commitment and demonstrates technical expertise.”
