July's LGT Star of the Month: Jenny Dobrzynski
Congratulations to Jenny Dobrzynski, Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, who is our LGT Star of the Month winner for July.
Jenny has worked as a Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital for 20 years and was nominated for the Superstar Award. Here’s why she was nominated:
"I would like to nominate Jenny for the incredible support and care she provides to patients and their families during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Although I don’t work directly with Jenny, through my role, I have regularly come across her name as a source of support for patients following a cancer diagnosis and throughout their treatment. It is clear that Jenny is highly regarded by consultants and colleagues alike, playing an important role in supporting patients and their families. Oncology nurses are unsung heroes, providing compassion, reassurance and care when people are at their most vulnerable.
From what I have seen over the years, I genuinely believe Jenny is very deserving of this recognition."
Jenny was congratulated by her colleagues and presented with a certificate, a £100 voucher from LGT, and a fruit basket kindly donated by Hasan Er, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Jenny said: "Wow, I’m so surprised and happy to have won the LGT Star of the Month Award. I really appreciate this lovely recognition and feel so happy to receive it. A special shoutout to my amazing team and lovely colleagues too."
Vinci Facilities, who chaired this month’s judging panel, commented: “There was a strong bunch of nominations this month, so congratulations to everyone who was nominated. However, we believe it should be Jenny Dobrzynski. We can imagine that this is a very difficult career, and showing compassion, kindness and support must go a long way.”
