January’s Employee of the Month
Congratulations to Patrick Osei, Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator for Cancer Services at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) who has been chosen as our Employee of the Month for January 2023.
Rebecca Nunn, Cancer Pathway Manager at Queen Elizabeth Hospital explained why she nominated him: “Patrick is an outstanding and dedicated member of staff. He recently took on the roles of Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator and Cancer Pathway Tracker for four months, as our former Cancer Pathway Tracker moved onto a new role and the job went out for recruitment. Patrick stepped in and covered both roles while remaining positive, professional and always putting the needs of our patients first.
“With his upbeat attitude and his willingness to assist the team whenever they needed it, Patrick had a significant impact on the entire team – with no impact on his own great work. Additionally, he trained our new Cancer Pathway Tracker colleague who is now confident enough to cover the MDTs in Patrick's absence.
“Patrick is a credit to the Cancer Project Team at QEH. He is consistently upbeat, encouraging, and has kept the department's standard of patient care at an extremely high level. I'm honoured to be his line manager and he went above and beyond for our team and the Trust.”
Julie Baker, Head of Nursing for Cancer and Haematology and Afis Alabi, Associate Manager for Haematology congratulated Patrick and presented him with his certificate and a fruit basket donated by Hasan Er, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

A surprised Patrick said: “Wow! I can’t believe I have won the Employee of the Month award, it feels great to know that my efforts are being noticed. I have been working at the Trust for three years and I have enjoyed every minute of it. A special shout out to my amazing team for their ongoing support.”
Kieron Hudson, Account Manager, ISS Facilities who chaired this month’s judging panel commented: “Patrick’s nomination stood out to us as someone who went the extra mile for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. You can see he cares deeply for his department and is a strong supporter of those around him."
