Employee of the Month for April
Congratulations to the Gynaecology Operations Team who has been chosen as our Employee of the Month winner for April. This cross-site team was nominated by Alison White, General Manager, Gynaecology, Sexual Health and HIV.
The team supports the day to day operational management of our gynaecology services at both hospitals and manage their administration teams. The team also helps support the Referral to Treatment and cancer patient lists including those for theatres and outpatient clinics.
Their proud manager Alison explained why she nominated them: “The team has shown phenomenal strength, resilience and integrity during the pandemic. They have managed to continue the day to day running of the services against all odds. Like all other teams, we had to turn our services around to work very differently so that we can still see patients. Against all the challenges of Covid-19, they have maintained a ‘we are all in this together’ attitude and ‘it is all hands on decks’ and this motivated the teams to cross cover, keep going and keep their heads up.”
“They always go above and beyond to ensure the work gets done and without a doubt are excellent examples of a team who maintain the Trust values every day and always have the patients at the centre of everything they do.”
“It is very easy to forget the admin workforce as their work continues silently every day. But it is really important that their contribution is fully acknowledged as integral to the work of our Trust. I would like to thank this team for the support they give to me, the service and our patients every single day.”
Susan Clarke, Service Manager said: “We are surprised and humbled to have been recognised for the award of Employee of the Month for April. It has been a very tough and challenging time working in the pandemic and the NHS. But as a cross site team we knew we were all in this together and kept going for our patients who were always at the forefront of our minds."
Jean Aldous, Interim Divisional Director of Operations for Women, Children and Sexual Health congratulated and presented the team with a certificate from the Trust alongside a fruit basket, generously donated by Hasan, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

As part of our annual staff awards, we are asking patients and the public to nominate their healthcare heroes at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust – staff who have provided amazing care and done a great job.
It just takes a few minutes to fill in our online healthcare hero nomination form and to tell us about the great work of an individual or a team. The closing date for nominations is Wednesday 2 June 2021 for consideration in our staff awards. We then plan to give prizes to the winners in early July.
