Egg-stra special Easter for Tiger Ward patients

Patients who have been receiving treatment on Tiger Ward (our children’s cancer unit) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital attended an Easter party at Welling United Football Club. The event was funded by The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust.

Gary Leman, Community Officer, Welling United Football Club explained: “We were delighted to be able to host the Easter party at our football club this year. It was lovely to see the children smiling, laughing, and having a brilliant time. It was also great that they got to meet some of our women’s football team and be mascots for their match. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Emily Walton, Interim Lead Paediatric Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist said: “The Easter party was a great success. A big thank you goes to Welling United Football Club for hosting the event – our patients had lots of fun. The Easter Bunny even made a surprise appearance, and the children were given Easter eggs by the club.”

The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust also donated Easter eggs to our young patients who will be spending Easter in hospital. To find out more about the charity please visit The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust website.
