April's Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Erin McManus, Occupational Therapist at University Hospital Lewisham, who has been chosen as our Employee of the Month for April 2022.

Physiotherapist Charley Zincraft explained why she nominated her: “Erin is an excellent role model; she is hardworking, caring and a good team player. She always goes the extra mile for patients, and goes above and beyond to make sure they get a safe discharge. She is a great asset to the Orthopaedic Team at such a busy time and always helps out when needed.”

“She consistently works hard when faced with challenging circumstances and always prioritises her workload. Her communication skills with patients, their relatives and the wider multidisciplinary team are excellent. Since she started, she has developed her confidence and is a pleasure to work with. I feel she is very deserving of this recognition.”

Sarah Flynn, Occupational Therapy Lead, congratulated Erin and presented her with her certificate. Erin was also later presented with a fruit basket, generously donated by Hasan, who runs the fruit stall at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

A shocked Erin responded: "This was a great surprise and I am honoured and grateful to have been nominated and to have won Employee of the Month for April. I work with amazing people and I would like to give a huge thanks to my colleagues for their ongoing support. I am proud to be a part of the Occupational Therapy Team and to work with people who inspire me daily."

Ewerton Soares, ISS General Manager QEH, who chaired this month’s judging panel, commented: “Erin’s nomination stood out for us due to her efforts to provide excellent care, support her team and the fact that she is seen as a role model. It is impressive to see someone inspire their colleagues and provide excellent care while working under operational pressures around the hospital.”
