Blood Tests at Queen Elizabeth Hospital
We offer an appointment-only service for people in Bexley and Greenwich who have a referral from their GP. We also provide a service for patients who are referred from our Outpatients clinics through electronic referral.
We provide a phlebotomy, testing and assessment service to local GPs, our inpatient wards and outpatient services in Bexley and Greenwich boroughs.
Our staff are trained to take blood from children up to 16 years old in our specialist paediatric clinics.

Please note that your blood tests results will only be made available to the doctor that requested the test cannot be given directly to you.
How to get a referral
Please speak to your GP about getting a referral, or talk to clinic staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
When you are referred to us, you will receive a form which lists the clinics and times which are available to you.
Blood tests are by appointment only. Please do not show up to our clinics without an appointment.
When you come to see us
Please bring a physical copy of your bloods request form to your booked appointment.
If you do not bring your form, we will not be able to see you and you will need to re-book your appointment. If you do not have a form, please contact your GP.
If you need a Glucose Tolerance test (GTT), please arrive between 8am and 9am only and report to reception.

We provide a phlebotomy, testing and assessment service to local GPs, our inpatient wards and Outpatient services in the Bexley and Greenwich area.
Who we can see
We provide a phlebotomy service for adults and children over 10 years old at our main outpatient departments.
Blood tests for children
We work with Children’s Outpatients to provide an appointment-only, children’s phlebotomy service. All of our staff have been specially trained to help children.
Our clinics are located in a child-friendly environment, with a play specialist available to help children manage their anxiety.
