Lending

Members can borrow up to 8 books at a time from either QEH or UHL library. Our physical book stock consists of 8,000 items, covering a wide variety of medical, nursing, allied health and management subjects.

Our online catalogue enables members to search for, renew and reserve books, and create lists.

Inter-library loans

The library shares its online catalogue with 22 other London healthcare libraries, with a joint collection of nearly 100,000 titles. Members can reserve books from partner libraries via the online catalogue. Reserved books are posted to either QEH or UHL for collection. For books that do not appear on the shared catalogue, please email us. Where possible, library staff will source these books from other regions.

Document supply

Members can request copies of journal articles that aren’t included within our collections. However, please check journal holdings before placing a request.

Evidence search service

The library offers an evidence search service to support patient care, service development and improvement, quality improvement projects, clinical audits, and related work. We regret that we cannot undertake searches that form part of coursework. To request a search please email us.

Information skills training

Information skills training is available for all LGT clinical and non-clinical staff, as well as students on placement. Sessions focus on how to use healthcare databases and other trusted resources to find evidence-based information. Critical appraisal and academic writing skills training is also on offer. Group and one-to-one bespoke sessions are available on request.
