What conditions does the department treat?

Our children's Emergency Departments treat children with many different conditions, including:

  • Asthma
  • Fever
  • Seizures
  • Fractures
  • Head injuries
  • Tummy pain
  • Vomiting
  • Cuts
  • Accidental poisoning

What will happen when you come to the department?

When children and their families arrive, an experienced children’s nurse assesses them. They are then directed to either the Urgent Care Centre to be treated by experienced children’s trained nurse practitioners, or to the main Children’s Emergency Department.
