When Biskers met Noah

Biskers, TeamLGT’s brand-new charity cat, brought smiles to patients and colleagues at Queen Elizabeth Hospital when he met the boy who gave him his name nine year old Noah Conneely.

Noah won the Trust Charity’s  Name the Mascot” competition while visiting his brother, who was recovering from appendicitis surgery on Safari Ward. A nurse handed him a flyer about the competition, and Noah entered right there in the hospital.

Noah said: “I came to visit my brother, and we were all eating biscuits. I thought about cat whiskers and suddenly the name ‘Biskers’ popped into my head. I just knew straight away that was the one.”

Noah got a big surprise when he returned to the hospital for a blood test, Biskers was waiting for him. The mascot gave him a cuddle, a certificate, and a special bag of goodies, including a £25 Smyths Toys voucher funded by the charity.

Noah’s mum, Kam, said: “What a wonderful surprise it was to find out Noah had won the Trust Charity mascot competition. We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital for looking after my son and for all their support.”

Margarita, Head of Charity and Volunteers, added: “Well done to Noah for coming up with such a brilliant name, we all love Biskers. We can’t wait to start introducing him around the Trust. Biskers will be bringing lots of fun and helping raise awareness of our charity’s amazing work.”

With his new name and a big heart, Biskers is ready to spread smiles and support across TeamLGT. The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity makes a difference by funding projects and initiatives that enhance care and improve the experience of patients, visitors, and staff. Find out more here.
