TeamLGT lights the Tree of Hope

The festive season officially arrived at LGT as we came together for our annual Tree of Hope ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Hospital a cherished LGT tradition that celebrates community, compassion, and the belief that brighter days lie ahead as we move toward 2026.

Patients, families, and colleagues gathered in the main reception to watch Chair Mike Bell and Chief Executive Ben Travis switch on the Christmas tree lights, with a message of togetherness. The Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Councillor Linda Bird, also joined the celebration, sharing a heartfelt message of thanks and encouragement with colleagues across LGT.

Attendees enjoyed hot chocolate and mince pies generously donated by ISS Facilities. The Trust Choir, accompanied by students from St. Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive School, sang Christmas carols.

As part of the tradition, colleagues and patients tied handwritten messages of hope to the Tree, each one honouring loved ones, remembrance, and optimism for the year ahead.
