Staff take over railways announcements

Our amazing allied health professions, nurses, midwives and doctors have joined key workers in in taking over the railways announcements, encouraging people to travel at quieter times, wear a face covering and take other steps to help those who really need to travel.

The new railway announcers include Consultant Cardiologist Zeeshan Khawaja (whose message you can listen to below and which has also been posted online by National Rail) encouraging people to travel off-peak where possible, keeping the railways free for key workers.

Train operators continue to monitor passenger numbers closely and to run some long some longer trains where possible.
