Trust Charity funds maternity lanyard initiative

Our maternity colleagues at the Trust have started wearing new lanyards with their job title to make it easier for patients to understand who is caring for them. The initiative was funded by our Trust Charity and led by Irene Omamogho, Matron for the Maternity Inpatient and Day Assessment Unit, following patient feedback.

The bright lanyards are available in 11 different colours, with job titles including midwife, maternity support worker, matron, doctor, consultant, domestic staff, administrator, and more.

Irene Omamogho, Matron for the Maternity Inpatient and Day Assessment Unit, explained: “We are so grateful to our Trust Charity for their support to our project. With these lanyards, we will enhance the patient experience for the women we care for and ensure they can recognise members of staff who support them throughout their journey in our Maternity Units. In addition, this is part of our ‘Listening to you programme’ which ensures patient feedback is heard and acted upon."

Margarita Vidiella, Head of Charity added: “Our Trust Charity is dedicated to funding projects and initiatives that enhance care for patients, visitors, and colleagues. We are delighted to be supporting this maternity lanyard initiative which was only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters. If you are inspired by this project and would like our get involved please contact us.”
