Our hospitals are open as usual – if you can’t make your appointment due to bad weather, call us to rearrange.

During this period of heavy snow and transport disruption, nurses on Safari children’s ward at Queen Elizabeth Hospital have been sleeping in the hospital overnight to ensure they are there for their shifts in the morning. They stay in empty patient rooms or on the assessment unit – and will even sleep on trolleys if there aren’t any beds!

Congratulations to Lydia Gray and Sarah Owen, who have been shortlisted for the Student Nursing Times awards. Lydia has been nominated in the Mentor of the Year category and Sarah Owen for Student Midwife of year.

A new, dedicated £750,000 health facility that will help manage the demand for emergency services and winter pressures has been officially opened at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Greenwich.
