LGT Star of the Month for July

Hannah Cotton, Nurse Facilitator in the Clinical Governance team at University Hospital Lewisham, has been named our LGT Star of the Month for July.
Hannah was also nominated for the Rising Star Award, and here is why:
“Since joining, Hannah has brought a fresh, effective approach to governance, significantly improving how patient concerns are managed and resolved. Her dedication and collaboration with clinical teams have led to faster, more compassionate responses, enhancing the patient experience. Hannah’s ability to engage with colleagues at all levels has built a culture of trust and continuous improvement across the hospital.
Her leadership has created a smoother, more efficient workflow and empowered colleagues with her supportive and approachable style. As the first nurse in this role, she brings valuable insights and professionalism that have earned her widespread respect.
Colleagues describe her as a breath of fresh air, efficient, knowledgeable and dedicated. Her commitment to excellence ensures timely, high-quality responses and a positive impact on both patients and colleagues."
Hannah was congratulated by her colleagues and presented with a certificate and a £100 voucher from LGT.
Hannah said: “I am thrilled to have been nominated and to have won Star of the Month. I’m very grateful for the nominations and to the judging panel for making the decision. To be recognised after a short time at LGT is a real honour. This award represents the work of the whole team across care of the elderly, stroke and palliative care and I’m delighted to have been welcomed into such a great team at UHL. Thank you for this incredible recognition. I look forward to continuing to contribute and grow alongside such inspiring colleagues.”
Peter Barnes Head of Operations at HATS and chair of this month’s judging panel, added: “Governance is such a vital behind-the-scenes function, and Hannah’s peers have clearly seen the determination and quality she brings to the role. Congratulations!”
