LGT Star of the Month September
Congratulations to Felicity Rodrigues, Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Lewisham, who has been named our LGT Star of the Month for September.
Felicity was nominated for the Star Player award, and here’s why:
“Felicity consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication and compassion as a valued member of our emergency department team. On a particularly demanding shift, she took the initiative to provide emotional support to a distressed individual, dedicating time to ensure their comfort and reassurance. This thoughtful intervention contributed to a calmer environment and positively impacted the overall care process.
"This example reflects Felicity’s ongoing commitment to going above and beyond her core responsibilities. She consistently supports both patients and colleagues with professionalism and a positive attitude, embodying the values of our department.
"Her actions not only enhance patient experience but also help maintain team efficiency during busy periods, making her an indispensable asset to our team.”
Felicity was met with applause and congratulations from her colleagues and was presented with a certificate and a £100 voucher from LGT.
A surprised Felicity, said: “I was genuinely surprised to be nominated and shortlisted for the LGT Star of the Month, and I’m truly honoured to have received this award.
"In such a fast paced and high-pressure environment like the Emergency Department, we all give so much of ourselves every day, so being recognised in this way really means a great deal.I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the incredible team around me.
"Any recognition I receive is a reflection of the support, collaboration, and dedication we share as a team. We learn from each other, we lift each other up, and above all, we put our patients at the centre of everything we do. This award motivates me to continue striving for the best possible outcomes for our patients and to uphold the high standards that define our department. I'm sincerely grateful, thank you.”
Vinci Facilities served as our judging panel this month and chose Felicity as the winner. They said: “Huge congratulations to Felicity. We selected her because she consistently goes out of her way to prioritise patient comfort in a busy emergency department.”
