Free NHS75 Lunch from Panas Gurkhas!

Today (Tuesday 11 July) our friends at Panas Gurkhas and Armed Forces colleagues delivered 800 free meals for Team LGT as part of our NHS75 celebrations.

Colleagues at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham enjoyed a tasty lunch of vegan curry and rice, gifted to Team LGT by Panas. Chef Ram Paudal has led the charge on the menu, creating a sumptuous spinach and corn curry.

Sujan Katuwal, owner and founder of Panas Gurkhas restaurant and Panas Helping Hands, a local charity, is on a mission to provide 250,000 free meals to those living and working in the boroughs of Southeast London.

Ben Travis, LGT CEO said: “It is so kind of Sujan and his team to provide 800 free lunches for Team LGT as part of our NHS75 celebrations. It is often said that there is no such thing as a free lunch but on this occasion, there really is! We know from past donations that it will be absolutely delicious too. Thank you so much on behalf of all our colleagues.”

Sujan Katuwal added : “During the pandemic, we made it our priority to help feed those that needed us the most – from tireless NHS workers and volunteers to those that were homeless, and this work has carried on. We are delighted to offer LGT colleagues a free lunch on Panas in celebration of the NHS’s 75th Anniversary. It is our way of saying thank you for all that you do for all of us – this year and always.”
