February’s LGT Star of the Month

Congratulations to Alison Joyce, Systems Team Manager at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT), who is our deserving winner of the February LGT Star of the Month Award.

Alison leads the Systems Team responsible for supporting the Trust's Electronic Patient Records systems, iCare and RiO, as well as the London Care Record. Her role is pivotal in ensuring these critical clinical systems remain stable, effective, and responsive to the needs of our frontline services.

Alison was nominated for the Star Player Award, and here's why:

“Alison is an outstanding leader with technical expertise and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Following a major code upgrade, she played a key role in post-upgrade troubleshooting, led complex system package installations, and ensured live services were protected throughout.

"Her work has included overseeing data migration, strengthened RIO data quality, and prepared systems for future upgrades, always balancing innovation with service continuity.

"Beyond her technical achievements, Alison empowers her team. She actively promotes skills development, encourages knowledge sharing, and prioritises wellbeing, even during the most demanding periods. By working collaboratively and capturing shared learning, she has strengthened delivery and built resilience for future projects.

"Colleagues describe Alison as dependable, adaptable, and consistently willing to go the extra mile. Her ability to combine deep technical knowledge with compassionate leadership sets her apart. She takes time to check in with colleagues, creates opportunities for professional growth, and fosters an environment where individuals feel valued and supported.

"Her influence extends beyond successful project outcomes. Alison has cultivated a culture of confidence, collaboration, and accountability within the Applications Support and London Care Record Service Desk teams, making a lasting impact across LGT.”

Alison was congratulated by her colleagues and presented with a certificate, a £100 voucher from LGT, and a £10 food and drink voucher  sponsored by Gaff.

Reacting to her award, Alison said:“It's really rewarding to be recognised for the work I do at LGT, and I'm grateful to have made a positive difference to those who nominated me.

"I'd like to thank my excellent teams Applications Support and London Care Record Service Desk, who have risen to the challenges of a very demanding programme of work, as well as my managers, who have supported me and given me the opportunity to challenge myself and grow professionally.”

Vinci Facilities, who chaired this month's judging panel, commented: “Congratulations Alison. She is a credit to the Trust. The nomination was brilliant and clearly highlighted the great work she does.”
