Calling patients, carers and families!

Do you want to be involved in improving services?

We want to learn from your experiences and work together to ensure we focus on the things that matter to you. For example, we are already working with some patients to make changes like improving the quality of discharge summaries and providing a better experience for cancer patients.

We use a system known as Quality Improvement (QI) to make improvements to our services, and we’d like you to work with us to improve the care we provide.

Following a successful first session in November, we will be holding another virtual QI workshop for the public on Tuesday 22 February 2022 from 5pm to 6.30pm.

>> Sign up for the ‘Introduction to QI for patients, carers and families at LGT’ on Eventbrite

The interactive session (which is of course free of charge) will cover:

  • What is Quality Improvement and how are we approaching this at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust?
  • Examples of Quality Improvement projects and how patients have been involved in improvements.
  • How you can get involved in a Quality Improvement project and what to expect.

If you have any questions, please contact Sulan from our QI team on sulan.gingell@nhs.net.

We've had some great feedback from patients who have already gotten involved – for example, Gary Davis (who participated in a project for Beech Ward at University Hospital Lewisham) said: "Being included in the team has been an excellent experience. I have seen first-hand, from the very beginning of project, the work involved and I have contributed ideas and improvement.

"Also witnessing the care and personal effort from all staff is just superb!"

So if you'd like to make a real difference to your local hospitals, please do sign up to the February session.
