Adult Community Services shortlisted for HSJ Award

It’s been a week of celebration and connection for our Adult Community Services at LGT.
We are delighted to share the news that LGT’s Adult Community Services have been shortlisted for ‘Primary and Community Care Provider of the Year’ at the HSJ Awards 2025, the UK’s largest, most prestigious, and longest-running healthcare awards.
The shortlisting followed a rigorous judging process and the team's work has been recognised as a standout example of excellence in healthcare delivery.
This exceptional achievement shines a national spotlight on the progress and transformational work taking place across our community teams in Lewisham.
This year’s awards attracted more than 1,250 entries from across the health sector and the finalists were chosen by a judging panel of some of the most respected leaders in healthcare, such as Matthew Style (Director General, Secondary Care and Integration, Department of Health & Social Care) and Amanda Doyle (National Director for Primary Care and Community Services, NHS England).
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 20 November - best of luck to everyone involved.
Also last week, LGT’s CEO Ben Travis visited the Waldron Health Centre to meet the teams that make up Adult Community Services, including the Lower Limb and Lymphoedema team, the Bladder, Bowel and Pelvic Health team, the Proactive Ageing Well Service (PAWS), the Urgent Community Response (UCR) team, and the District Nursing teams.
Ben also joined the UCR team on a home visit to see first-hand the vital role they play in delivering healthcare in people’s homes, helping to prevent hospital admissions and supporting our community to stay well.
Ben said: “I really enjoyed spending the day with our community teams. It was inspiring to see first-hand the dedication and care they provide and brilliant to see all the improvements that are taking place. The positive energy across all the teams was fantastic. Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and for sharing your work with me.”
This is a fantastic reminder of the difference our Adult Community Services make every single day. It reflects the commitment, skill, and teamwork across our services and the continued drive to improve care for the people of Lewisham.
We’re sure you’ll join us in wishing the team the very best of luck in the final ceremony, which takes place in Battersea on 20 November.
