School Aged Immunisations

We help to deliver the national routine immunisation programme for school aged across Lewisham schools and in community settings.

Please note that from Sunday 1 September 2024, Hounslow and Richmond Healthcare Trust (HRCHT) will be the new provider within the borough.

Vaccines

  • Protect you and your child from many serious and potentially deadly diseases

  • Protect other people in your community by helping to stop diseases spreading to people who cannot have vaccines

  • Are safety tested for years before being introduced – they’re also monitored for any side effects

  • Sometimes cause mild side effects that will not last long – some children may feel a bit unwell and have a sore arm for two or three days

  • Reduce or even get rid of some diseases if enough people are vaccinated

Routine vaccinations

  • School-aged children’s seasonal influenza vaccinations – reception to year 11

  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination – year 8 (boys and girls)

  • Meningococcal ACWY conjugate vaccine – year 9

  • Diphtheria, Tetanus and Poliomyelitis (Td/IPV) booster – year 9

  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) catch up vaccinations – year 8 and 9

  • Targeted offer - measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) and polio vaccination catch up offered for children who are not vaccinated or for those are partially vaccinated.

  • All children and young people who have missed any of the above vaccinations can be offered a catch up by the School Aged Immunisation service.
