Strike action - January 2023

There will be several strikes over the coming days. Please follow this advice:
- If you need urgent medical care, please come into hospital, especially in emergency and life-threatening situations (please come in alone, or with one other person only)
- If you have an appointment at home, at one of our hospitals or one of our community sites, please come in as planned. We will contact you directly if this changes
- During ambulance service strikes, ambulances will still be responding to calls, but this may only be where there is an immediate risk to life
- When the ambulance service is on strike, only call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency ie if someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk
- If you need help but your situation is not life-threatening, please visit NHS111 or call NHS 111 (dial 111 on your phone – it is free)
- GP services are not affected by the strike action. Please go to your GP appointments as planned, unless they contact you
- For more information on when to call 999 and when to go to A&E, you can visit the NHS UK website
- If you are booked in for maternity care with us, please see this update from our maternity team
